Chapter 28. Famous People Who Suffered
Loneliness And Depression
Their Woes Increase As The Risen Christ
Rocks Their World!
But if Christ gave them reason to be frustrated and
depressed in life, Christian singles, they had no idea how the risen
Christ would rock their world, and none of it would be pleasant or
reassuring! No! First of all, while the chief priests were gloating over his
arrest, they must have heard that he healed the servant of one of the chief
priests when his ear was cut off by a sword. Then the despised Pilate
refused to change the inscription on his cross that read, The King Of The
Jews, which was an acrostic that spelled Yahweh, so the inscription
over Jesus’ head was Yahweh! When the chief priests saw this acrostic that

the secular historians of the day argued about the reason for this strange

that the darkness was caused by an eclipse of the sun, as did Phlegon, who
knew it happened at the time of Christ’s crucifixion. But Julius Africanus,
a Christian quoting these secular historians who were alive when the strange
darkness occurred, found their natural explanation to be flawed. Africanus
wrote, “Thallus, in the third book of his histories, explains away this
darkness as an eclipse of the sun, unreasonably, as it seems to me
(unreasonably, of course, because a solar eclipse could not take place at
the time of a full moon, and it was the season of the Passover full moon
that Christ died.) Julius Africanus, Chronography, 18.1
