“Positive Thinking” Books Are Best Sellers, But
God Thought Of It First!
Secular folks have discovered the power of positive thinking too,
and they also have learned about positive confession.. Even cult
leaders also know the efficacy of repeating words and phrases they
have taught their converts, based on the leader’s evil teaching.
However, they have used the principle to bewitch their unfortunate
followers, by long hours of repetition , leaving them in a trance-like
state, unable to think for themselves or question why this egomaniac
should hold such power over them.
Fortunately, those secular and Christian writers who have sold so
many self-help books do not want to make slaves of us, but they are
trying to bring out the best in us, and to show that even the average
person can think and speak positively and greatly enhance his life.
Some of the newer books, however, do try to lead their readers into
New Age Thought, a risky course of action because it leads away from
Jesus and toward an unhealthy, unrealistic faith in themselves,
even going so far as to believe that people can become gods! What
folly! Look what happened to the First Family, when they were told
that they could be as God, knowing good from evil, if they disobeyed
Him. Consider this: even angels cannot become gods, neither the
wonderful, good angels, nor the foolish dark angels who defied God and
face certain eternal punishment, when God is through with them. If
powerful, intelligent, good angels can never ascend to Godhood, how is
it that we frail and intellectually limited humans vainly imagine that
we can become gods? We have far less going for us than satan and his
army, who have seen Heaven and whose knowledge far exceeds any human’s
knowledge, including that of the great Einstein. But fortunately,
Christian singles, we have more going for us than the dark angels, in
that we have been welcomed into the family of God, through the price
Jesus paid to save us from judgment on that great and terrible
Judgment Day, when all sinners will have to stand before the Supreme
Judge, at The Great White Throne, and give an accounting of their
lives. Why would we desire to be gods, when we already are joint-
heirs to all Jesus has? The New Testament is the last will and
testament of Jesus Christ, God’s only son. We have a very rich
relative in Heaven, not a rich uncle, but Someone who declared Himself
to be our Brother, and who paid for our entrance into Heaven with his
blood! Oh, Christian single, even when you suffer here on earth,
remind yourself of the glorious home you have in Heaven and the
endless delight awaiting you! This will invigorate and embolden you to
reach for the Abundant Life that victory over your current
circumstances promises, as you learn to live by faith and not by
sight! It will bring a little Heaven down to Earth, for you to enjoy
now.
