Chapter 26. Solution #1: Speak Life And Blessing
Upon Yourself And Family
Christian Singles: Get Ready, get ready, get ready!!! It’s time
to bring out our BIG GUNS to defeat loneliness and depression. I have
been alluding to these spiritual warfare methods throughout this
Guide, and you have seen how powerful positive thinking is, combined
with a positive confession. (this is simply the words you choose in
declaring the Lord’s healing and blessing - you also confessed with
your mouth and believed in your heart that Christ saved you, when you
gave your life to Him. Both are positive confessions. We will study
negative confessions later, and you may be shocked to see how often
you invited disaster by the power of your negative words.) Please
remember, Christian single, that what you speak about yourself and
loved ones carries the power of life and death, so train your mind and
that unruly tongue to only speak God-inspired, powerful,
life-affirming words. (If some of you doubt that you can bring
disaster by saying “I wish I would die” and you reason that since
you haven’t died, this isn’t true, don’t forget that God can
over ride any vain statements you make. In addition to that, be aware
that bringing about your own destruction is a slow process, first
stealing joy, then hope and faith, before your body gradually begins
to break down.) When we looked at psychosomatic causes for illnesses,
we found that doctors said that up to 70% of illnesses are caused by
patterns of negative thinking, stress, and other self-induced means.
Some of these illnesses were deadly, while others greatly damaged the
quality of life. If you say “I will never get over this depression”
you are programming your conscious and subconscious mind to carry this
directive out. Someone once said, “Your mind is like a computer
and it acts upon stimuli or thoughts, regardless whether they are
positive or negative. But by your spirit and will, you can change
those thoughts, so that your mind will act upon what God says about
you, and not upon negative feelings you have allowed to fester, which
directly contradict what God has said in His Word.
