CHRISTIAN SINGLE’S GUIDE TO PERSONALITY DISORDERS
WHICH CAUSE DEPRESSION FOR BOTH THE PERPETRATOR AND THEIR VICTIMS
Chapter 25 Warning- A Christian Single’s Dating Disaster:
Narcissism And Other Personality Disorders
The Dependent Personality Disorder
But there is another type of mooch, who may not deserve your
financial help. They desperately need some tough love from you,
though, to build a fire under them so they can become productive
citizens. These parasites come from all backgrounds and age groups.
They live with whomever will take them in, and are a walking
encyclopedia of freebies, and where you can get them. What really sets
them apart from the mentally and physically ill though, is that they
are healthy and fully capable of working. Their problem may be an
allergy to work, not a medical condition, but a choice they make.
Their aversion to work, and willingness to beg or cajole family and
friends to supply their needs insures that they will enjoy retirement,
before they have even begun to work. I know a woman who has run out of
churches in this city, as each of them realized that she went to every
church with the same hard luck story. She was given money for rent,
food, and new clothes and shoes and each offered to drive her to job
interviews and promised transportation to and from work when she found
a job. Quickly, each church saw that she had a thousand excuses for
not showing up at the job interview. They had given her free
counseling and met all her needs, but she refused to begin supporting
herself. Many of the homeless, too, refuse to work, yet are
able-bodied and mentally stable. These are the people described in the
Bible as those who will not work. Evidently, the professional sponge
has been around for ages. These are hardcore dependents. Some may be
filled with self-pity, and see themselves as a victim, while others
feel proud that they beat the system. They do not want the IRS or
others to know they exist, so they avoid getting identification if
possible or they use a fictitious ID. Their defining characteristic is
their work history. If they have had few jobs that lasted a
year or less, and have been unemployed for most of their lives, they
could be hard core dependents, Christian singles, beware! This may not
seem like a bad trait to the Christian single man who wants to date a
woman who prefers marriage and raising children over having a career.
Just be sure she is not lazy or manipulative, and on the lookout for a
meal ticket. If she is not sincere, her love for you may be in
question. There are Christian single women who desire homemaking, and
would only consider working if it was absolutely necessary. This woman
will be a perfect match for you. Bear in mind, though, that it is
helpful if she has some job skills, in the event that you are injured
or too sick to work for a long period of time. Then you won’t have
to deplete your financial resources while you are out of work.
