CHRISTIAN SINGLE’S GUIDE TO PERSONALITY DISORDERS
WHICH CAUSE DEPRESSION FOR BOTH THE PERPETRATOR AND THEIR VICTIMS
Chapter 25 Warning- A Christian Single’s Dating Disaster:
Narcissism And Other Personality Disorders
Watch For These Personality Disorders
The Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is different from the
narcissist’s traits in that the BPD relies on others to help make
his life more stable and comforting. He needs this because he has
almost unrelenting depression and mood swings that drive him and his
beleaguered family up the wall! The narcissist can much more easily
forsake people who fail to live up to their high expectations, than
the BPD who craves human contact. The Borderline may “think” he’s
superior, but the narcissist KNOWS he’s superior!
While narcissism affects far more men than women, the opposite is
true of Borderline Personality. Since this is the case, I will use the
pronoun “she” to describe the BPD. This will give the guys a break
because they are probably tired of the narcissist always being
referred to as “he”. But I have a question for the guys. If I
remember correctly, someone once said “Vanity, thy name is woman!”
Well, since there is no one so vain as a narcissist, and 75% of
them are men, don’t you think this rotten quote is wrong??
Unfair to women?? Just because the ladies spend more time in front of
the mirror?? They just want to look nice for you, and for themselves.
(I stand corrected: Shakespeare wrote, “frailty, the name is woman”
but someone, probably a man, changed the quote to read Vanity.) But,
enough of this drivel. Sorry, I will try to stay on message, and we
are comparing the narcissist with the sufferer of BPD. In a moment, I
will give a partial list of the symptoms of the Borderline Personality
Disorder, and reprint some very important information that the
National Institute of Mental Health has placed in Public Domain, a
very helpful gesture. They also outline some of the therapy available.
