Loneliness: Two Very Different Reactions to Being Alone
Well, let’s take some
time out. Don’t you think we could use some levity about now? I
suspect some of you are getting antsy and Grandma has a short
attention span, so let’s all take our medicine, with a merry heart!
You might want to grade
yourself when our laughter breaks come up. See if you are loosening up
while I try to tickle your funny bone! No, you can’t grade yourself
on the curve, because you won’t know how hard and heartily the
others are laughing. But give yourself an “A” regardless, because
Grandma likes to see you succeed and I don't have the heart to
disappoint you!
5 Points if you smile
10 Points if you giggle
or titter, (whatever that is)
15 Points if you
chuckle
20 Points if you let
out a gut-busting belly laugh
OK, I’ll admit, some
of these jokes will require some determination on your part to find
anything funny about them, but force yourself. Funny or not, your
laughter will be a healing balm. Please spend a little time watching
your favorite sitcoms or comedy shows and laugh out loud, please!”
