The luckiest people, Christian singles, are those who
do not have to eat something sweet every day. They can
maintain normal weight much easier, and their energy is
high. They make me green with envy! But instead of being
jealous, I just try to be more like them, since two of my
children have never cared about desserts. (I can’t take
credit for that; we had as much sweets in the house as
anyone.) Sometimes a sweet tooth craving just needs a
piece of sugar-free gum to be satisfied, and not a candy
bar of ice cream bar, so see if you can satisfy that
craving with a piece of gum, first, OK?
How about allowing your lady to experience a “Guy’s
Night Out”? Take her to places and do things guys
like to do together. (If she’s willing, ask her to
pretend for an hour that she’s a guy.) This will be a
totally new experience for her, guys, because she will get
an insight into what makes men tick, and what they like to
talk about when they get together. If you really want to
make her sneak peek an authentic experience, pretend she’s
one of your guy friends, and talk about the same interests
with her as with your friends.
But don’t expect her to know all about your car’s
innards, or the stuff you have added to it to make it look
cool. Some gals can hold their own when talking about
sports, but maybe not yours, so let her talk about sports
she likes, as well. (That way, you won’t be doing all
the talking.) After an hour or so, your lady may have
learned all the “guy talk” she’ll ever want to know,
so be ready to change character, and be the suave,
wonderful man who can just as easily relate to women
friends as you can, men friends.
