GUIDE TO ONLINE DATING ADVICE
The passive-aggressive personality is aggressively
remaining passive, no matter what you say or do. If he is
also inclined to avoid working, this will be his trump
card. He won’t look for work in the help-wanted column
so you may read some job openings to him, but he will be
lukewarm to all of them. If you give him the paper, you’d
better follow him around and be sure he goes into the
personnel department and fills out applications, or he may
take in a movie instead. He is dead set against doing what
someone else begs him to do, but he will never kick and
scream or even raise his voice. He simply won’t do what
you ask him to do. His aggressiveness is quiet, but he is
determined to take a passive stance. But if his access to
money is cut off, he can just as easily decide for himself
that he must find work. Here again, tough love is what it
will take to make a willing, working partner in your
marriage. It is time for a confession:
Guess what Grandma did before my illness became full
blown pancreatitis? I told my relative (who was taking
care of me at the time) that I would fill out as many job
applications as I could, but I went to the library every
day, instead, and spent all day, reading and listening to
music!! My favorite song was Scott Joplin’s “The
Entertainer” by Marvin Hamlisch. It allowed me to escape
all my problems and I drifted away, dreaming of the time
when Scott Joplin lived, (1867-1917) and I pictured
couples dancing to this wonderful old Ragtime song. I got
lost in a dream world, which was far more pleasant than
job hunting! That was my way of being passive-aggressive
and it was a disgusting way to weasel out of looking for
work. I’m still ashamed of myself, and I pulled this
scam 25 years ago! I also had the opportunity to
habitually lie to them (about job hunting) and was a short
term pathological liar!!! When I did find a job I only
lasted a month because my illness worsened . They say that
confession is good for the soul, and I do feel better, but
I never could tell my relative what I did. Some things are
better left unsaid, don’t you think? No?
