The reason that I mentioned that we should not be hard
hearted towards the down and out is that we don’t know
if they are physically or mentally ill, or if they even
have any boots, let alone bootstraps with which to pull
themselves up. The mentally ill, whether sick with
completely debilitating mental problems, or suffering
depression, need help to get out of their situation.
